Setting Up SMS Sender IDs in MYBOS

Australian regulations require all SMS Sender IDs to be registered to help protect people from SMS scams and fraud. As a result, any SMS sent using an unregistered Sender ID may appear as "Unverified" to recipients, which can reduce trust and delivery effectiveness.

MYBOS uses FDX, a telecommunications provider, to deliver SMS broadcasts. As part of the new Sender ID requirements, FDX will assist with registering your Sender IDs with ACMA and submit the necessary information for approval.

For us to assist you in registering your Sender ID, you are required to fill out this form, which we then pass on to FDX to process your information with ACMA.

How to Register Your Sender ID

I use my registered business name

If your SMS Sender ID is your registered company name (or a variation of it), complete the Sender ID form with the required business details. This information will be submitted to our SMS provider, FDX, for registration.

The details provided must match the information registered against your business's ACN or ABN.

My Sender ID is not a registered business name

If the Sender ID you use is not a registered business name, you may still be able to register it through a legitimate use application. To do this, you must provide documentation that demonstrates your right to use the Sender ID.

For example, if you own the domain mybuilding.com.au, you may be able to register MyBuilding as your SMS Sender ID.

Complete the Sender ID form with the relevant details and FDX will contact you via email with a document for electronic signature. Once signed, FDX will submit the application to ACMA for approval. If approved, the Sender ID can then be added to MYBOS and used for SMS broadcasts.
