[Resident Web Portal](https://support.mybos.com/knowledge-base/residents?hsLang=en-au#resident-web-portal) # Resident Web Portal - Creating a Community Post ## The Community Board is where residents share messages and notices with their neighbours. Posts you create go to your Building Manager for review, and once approved they appear on the community board for every resident in your building. The board has two views. **Management** shows notices created by your Building Manager, and **Community** shows posts from residents. ![](https://support.mybos.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-09-2026-12-16-57-3965-AM.png?width=670&height=303&name=image-png-Oct-09-2026-12-16-57-3965-AM.png) Use **Sort By** and **Search** at the top of the board to find a post. On the Management tab, each notice is shown as a card with a **View Post** button that opens it in full. If there are no resident posts yet, the Community tab shows "There are currently no community post".   ### Posting on the Community Board **Step 1:** Log in to the Resident Web Portal and go to **Community Board**. **Step 2:** Click **Add Post**. **Step 3:** Complete the post form. | Field | What to enter | | --- | --- | | **Start Date** | The first day your post is live. It is filled in with today's date, and you can change it. | | **End Date** | Required. The last day your post stays live on the board. It is empty until you choose a date. | | **Subject** | Required. The heading of your post. | | **Description** | More detail about your post. Use the link button in the toolbar to add a link. | | **Photos** | Optional. There are three upload boxes, so you can add up to 3 photos. Drop a file into a box or click it to choose one. | | **Files** | Optional. Drop a file into the upload area or click it to choose one. To close the form without posting, click **Cancel**. A message confirms "Your post has been successfully created! Your post will be live once it's approved." Click **Close** to return to the board, or **Post another** to add a second post. Your new post appears on the **Community** tab with a **Pending** badge. **Step 5:** Wait for approval. Your post is sent to the Building Manager for review and is not visible to other residents until it is approved. **Note:** Posts from residents appear under **Community Board** ➔ **Community**. Notices from your Building Manager appear under **Management**.   ### Checking the Status of Your Post After you submit a post, its status appears as a badge at the top of its card under **Community Board \> Community**. | Status | What it means | | --- | --- | | **Pending** | Your Building Manager has not reviewed the post yet. Other residents cannot see it. | | **Approved** | Your post is live and visible to all residents until its End Date. | | **Rejected** | Your Building Manager did not approve the post. A reason is required when a post is rejected, and you can view it in the portal. | If a post is rejected, check the reason, then create a new post with the changes needed.   ### Tips and FAQs **Why can't other residents see my post?** Every post is reviewed by the Building Manager first. Check the status badge on your post's card under **Community Board** ➔ **Community**. Until it shows **Approved**, the post is not visible to others. **How long does my post stay on the board?** From the Start Date to the End Date you choose when creating the post. Both dates are required. **What can I attach to a post?** Up to 3 photos and one file, which can be a PDF or a Word document. **Why was my post rejected?** Building Managers must give a reason when they reject a post. You can view it in the portal. **What is the difference between Management and Community?** Management shows notices created by your Building Manager. Community shows posts from residents. **I can't see the Add Post button. Why?** Community posts may have been turned off for your building.
